Our Commitment

I am committed to ensuring that mariavivas.com is accessible to people with disabilities. I aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which defines how to make web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor disabilities.

What We've Done

This site has been built with accessibility in mind. Measures taken include:

Semantic HTML structure with appropriate heading hierarchy
Sufficient color contrast between text and background colors
Keyboard-navigable interface — all interactive elements are reachable via tab key
Text that can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
Descriptive link text that makes sense out of context
No content that flashes more than three times per second
A logical reading and focus order throughout the page

Current Status

Color Contrast

Body text and primary interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast requirements.

Keyboard Navigation

The site can be navigated entirely without a mouse using standard keyboard controls.

Screen Readers

The site has been tested with basic screen reader behavior in mind, using semantic HTML throughout.

Third-Party Tools

Calendly (the scheduling tool linked from this site) is a third-party service. Its accessibility is governed by Calendly's own standards.

Known Limitations

While I strive for full accessibility, some limitations exist:

The Calendly scheduling widget is embedded via a third-party link and accessibility depends on Calendly's own implementation.
The Google Sheets resource download links to an external document whose accessibility is subject to Google's accessibility standards.
Some decorative background elements do not have alt text, as they are purely visual and carry no informational content.

I am actively working to address any gaps and will update this statement as improvements are made.
